Recycling Tips

  1. Recycle ONLY #1 & #2 plastics in Allen County.  Look on the bottom or side of the container for the identification number.

  2. DO NOT recycle unmarked plastic containers.

  3. DO NOT put recyclables in plastic bags when utilizing a curbside recycling service.

  4. Separate recyclables when utilizing a drop-off recycling site.

  5. Flatten containers to save space.  

  6. Remove all lids.  Throw away plastic lids and recycle steel lids.

  7. Drain excess liquid and rinse food residue off containers before recycling.

  8. Recycle inserts with the newspaper.

  9. Bundle newspapers and magazines in brown paper bags or with twine. 

  10. Labels do not need to be removed.
